We have loved working with your students this year. Please make sure to look at the newsletter sent home this month for some great ideas on what do get involved in this year. There are so many other activities, camps, and fun things to do around Sunbury and Columbus. Most of all, have fun and enjoy time together. Thank you for letting us work with your students and we will see all of you back next school year. We wish our fourth graders the best of luck as they head off to new things :)

Where is time going?!?
You have received your first newsletter and graphs home at the beginning of this month. I am sure you celebrated the growth already achieved in these first few weeks of intervention. I wanted to mention that the newsletter is a bit different this year. We have included a STAFF SPOTLIGHT! Most of our students move to different teachers throughout the year. This is an opportunity for you to get to know those on the team a little better. We have also begun our new positive note system. Be on the look out for a note to come home with your student about their successes! The kids love seeing who gets one each week and celebrating with their peers. Enjoy these fall moments :) This year has flown more so than any others. Read our newsletter to find out some engaging activities you can do this summer to keep learning !
We wrapped up groups today with a Popsicle party! All students did a wonderful job this year and made some great gains! Thank you for all the support at home. Make sure to continue to read at home and check our resources to continue learning this summer.November seemed to fly by this month. Student graphs went home today. Sorry for the delay but with Thanksgiving Break we wanted to give the students as much time to show growth between data points. Also some graphs may not 2 extra data points this month due to 3rd grade State Testing and students needing small group, along with break. November did limit the amount of instruction we were able to give as will December. This month we will be taking a benchmark assessment to all students k-4. Tutors, Education Assistants, and Intervention Specialists will be needed to provide accommodations to students with disabilities and help administer testing. Take these next few weeks to continue to read at home to build fluency and comprehension. Thanks for all that you do!!
School year is flying by with 2 months of groups already past. Much more growth on the way! Check your students graphs this month and the newsletter for November is up and ready. The next couple of months will be full of busy schedules and fun activities.
If a students intervention teacher is absent and there is not a sub, students still are receiving services through an "intervention switch schedule." So if your student comes home saying that "I met with a new teacher today, or I worked with a different group," this is most likely the reason. This allows for students to not lose group time or valuable instruction in the area of reading. Thanks for all you do at home!! Check our newsletter for some activities to do this summer to keep up with reading!
Don't forget to check your child's LLI graph to look at current reading levels in the areas of independent, instructional, and hard. This can help you find books on your students level at the community library, bookstore, or when the book fair comes again!
Graphs are sent home once a month to give enough data points to ensure growth. Some students who are progress monitored on a bi-weekly basis will have two new data points on their graph by the end of the month. Students are progress monitored weekly will have four new data points on their graph. This allows everyone to look at trends, rather than individual points.
Graphs either went home last week or this week! Celebrate all the success! Be sure to read the newsletter to get a better explanation of an RCBM!
